Stromae's Carmen

Over the past few months I've had the pleasure of animating on a new music video for megastar Stromae, directed by Sylvain Chomet, and produced by production company th1ng in London.

It's just been released today onto Buzzfeed and you can watch it by clicking HERE!

Enjoy!

  1. fantastic! most of my tutors worked on Chomet's Illusionist, although they didn't get much contact with him as they were in a smaller studio in Dundee and the main studio was in Edinburgh (both are gone now).
    I love the xerox style!
By the way- Hysteria Film wouldn't happen to have been named after a Def Leppard album, was it?

    1. Thanks Marc! It's always fun to work with a rougher, more expressive line, and less tiring on the fingers too!

No, 'Hysteria' didn't come from the album - it was kind of random really, but I liked the connection to hysterical laughter, and also the Victorian definition of 'Hysteria' which was basically female sexual desire, cured by doctor's wielding early steam-driven vibrators. Really. Either way, 'Hysteria' has pleasurable connotations...
